Elevator pitch

Hello, my name is El Hadji Lam, and I’m excited to be here. I am currently majoring in Electrical Engineering, and I am seeking an internship with your company. I see this opportunity as a chance to enhance my skills and contribute meaningfully to your team.

I have actually participated in some projects in high school that will be actually a handful to my career. Additionally, to my internship in high school where I work with the teacher making their lab ready for their classes too.

I believe that all that skill I gained during my work experience plus others skills mentioned in the resume will make a good asset to your company. My eagerness to learn and willingness to take on any tasks necessary to help the team succeed. I believe my strong work ethic and willingness to tackle challenges will make me a valuable asset. If I have the privilege of interning with you, I’m confident that you’ll see my potential and consider me for future opportunities as a full-time employee.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Reflection

Throughout the process, I learned that there are a lot of things that I need to improve especially when it comes to my career. As a student and engineer, I never thought about an internship, all I ever think about is passing my class and getting my bachelor’s degree. However, going through this kind of work made me realize that maybe it’s time to think about getting an internship and search for the company that has my best interest. What is amazing about the project is the different phases that you are going through and each phase is connected to one another. Additionally to that, being able to tackle the challenges during the process is actually helping you improve your knowledge about your career and the most important thing is to develop our skills of writing or to make a public speech. A public speech will help you handle your interview in a good way and a confident way to impress the interviewer. I admit that it was very challenging as I say it, especially the cover letter and the resume.

Resume, I think it’s an annoying word and yet people prioritize it because of what it stands for. I have had my resume since High School so whatever I was doing was just looking for a way to improve. It seems to be easier since I don’t have many things to go through but I still struggle with my work experience. The problem wasn’t that I don’t have work experience because I worked at least 3 jobs but it was to organize the paragraph and use the correct verb. The cover letter is also one of the challenging parts since it’s related to the resume. I can say that it is just a resume format by paragraph. I don’t know why but when it comes to writing about myself I’m not comfortable about it and I don’t like doing it. But when I was doing this assignment I felt like I challenged myself to an internal fight. It was crazy at first, I was even afraid to start writing. Expressing your interest or beliefs can be very tricky because the reaction of others can be unpredictable. Some individuals may respond positively, engaging in the

dialogue, while others may react defensively. That’s one of the reasons I don’t like to write about myself but I felt like during this project I kind of tackled that thought and even buried it I hope at least.

I kind of enjoy struggling with my paperwork because the good thing is that; when you receive feedback from someone it will boost your confidence and also will help you to improve your paper. Getting feedback from my peers helped me a lot, I can say that the only thing that helped overcome those struggles was the feedback. What was amazing about it was that the feedback was warm and honest too. You know some people don’t like people to give them feedback because they might think that others might criticize their work or maybe they give cold feedback. However, I was lucky to work with people who understand me and help to ace up my work. I am very grateful to them and I hope we will get the chance to do it again.
